About Me
Hi! My name is Jabril, though I also go by Jay. My pronouns are he/him, and I am currently studying Art & Design with a focus in Visual Communication (VC) at the University of Delaware.
In my free time, I enjoy creating digital artwork and editing using Adobe software. While I have limited experience working with cameras, I am excited to develop my technical skills and discover where my creative strengths lie by the time I graduate.
Course Goals
In Core Photography, my goal is to develop a stronger technical foundation by learning the ins and outs of camera settings, exposure, and composition. I also hope to integrate my background in design with photography, creating work that thoughtfully combines visual communication and image-making.
Reflection
Why did you take this course and what did you hope to achieve?
I hoped to learn many techniques to advance my skills and to take my craft more serious by using new equipment and improving my skills with adobe softwares. At first, I had no idea what the content of this class would contain, but after each assignment, I've been excited to do more serious and savvy work that only professionals would be doing.
Did you achieve your goals?
Yes! if it weren't for countless hours of practice and in class critiques, there wouldn't be much progress with the way I shoot photos. A great takeaway from Core Photography is wiling to take risks for perfect images and having a deeper meaning in the images.
